SOME OF THE STORIES FROM THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL.. . . .

CHELSEA
created a new record when they went unbeaten in
86 consecutive League matches at their Stamford Bridge home
between March 2004 and October 2008.

Well, they say that a good home record is the basis of any successful club - and that was certainly the case for Chelsea between 2004 and 2008. During that time they were unbeaten at their Stamford Bridge home in 86 consecutive league matches - a record for a club in the Football League or Premier League. And it certainly brought Chelsea success. That run included an unbeaten home record in four consecutive full seasons and in those four seasons they finished as Premier League champs twice and runners-up twice.
