      CHAMPIONSHIP    2015/16

Leading League goalscorer:
Andre Gray
 (Burnley)
25 goals

Third-place Brighton missed out on automatic promotion on goal difference - had they scored just two more goals (or conceded two fewer) automatic promotion would have been theirs. Instead it was the play-offs for the south coast club where they again missed out - Hull defeating Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the Wembley final to win back their Premier Division place after just one season out of the top flight.
