Leading League goalscorer:
Aaron McLean
 (Peterborough United)

A rare bit of the high-life for Rochdale. They played at Wembley for the first time in the Play-Off final against Stockport County. Rochdale were beaten
3-2. One Rochdale player missed out on the chance of a Wembley appearance after suffering a bizarre injury. Striker Lee Thorpe broke an arm in three places during an arm-wresting contest with team-mate Rene Howe on the coach on the way to the semi-final against Darlington. Ouch!
Injuries

Milton Keynes Dons recorded 18 away League victories on their way to the League 2 title and so equalled the record that had been set by Doncaster Rovers in the 1946/47 season.
