Nottingham Forest playing Leeds United in the third tier of the Football League - would Messrs Clough and Revie ever had believed that would have been possible?

It proved to be a season of mixed fortunes for those two clubs. Forest won automatic promotion but Leeds won enough points to take that second promotion spot from them had they not become the first club to suffer a 15 point deduction for breaking Football League rules on leaving administration without a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA). But although they started the season on -15 points they won their first 7 League matches and were unbeaten in their first 13 to grab a play-off place. But they suffered defeat in the Wembley final against near neighbours Doncaster Rovers.
Points deductions

But then there are more important things in football than promotion and relegation. That was brought home when Forest entertained Leicester in a Carling Cup tie and the match had to be abandoned at half time when City defender Clive Clarke suffered a heart attack in the dressing rooms. Question:

The 2021 Rugby League World Cup wasn't played until 2022 due to Covid while the opening ceremony in 2022 was spoiled by a failure of the public address system which also delayed the kick off of the opening match that followed the ceremony. Mind you England beat Samoa 60-6 in that opening match!

Which English football ground hosted that opening ceremony and the first match in the competition that followed it?
