Leading League goalscorer:
Thierry Henry
 (Arsenal)
 25  goals

Arsenal became the first club to win an FA Cup final after a penalty shoot-out when they defeated Manchester United 5-4 on penalties after extra time had ended with a 0-0 scoreline. Paul Scholes was the player who failed to score his penalty. Arsenal's Jose Antonio Reyes became only the second player to be sent off in an FA Cup final, receiving his second yellow in the closing seconds of extra time.

Underdogs Liverpool won a memorable Champions League final in Istanbul. Outplayed in the first half and 3-0 down at the break they scored three second half goals before eventually winning 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out. Amazing!

Also amazing is that Everton qualified for the Champions League - despite having a negative goal difference!

Arsenal break Nottingham Forest's record by completing 49 consecutive League matches undefeated
(the 49 matches).
