It was certainly a near-miss season for Sheffield United. They reached the last 4 of both the FA Cup and League Cup - but lost both semis. Amazingly they  played all 9 cup matches prior to the semis at Bramall Lane. They also reached the play-off final - but Wolves denied them a place in the Premier League by beating them at Cardiff. Mind you, Sheffield Wednesday were relegated!

Leicester fans had an unusual decision to make during half-time in the match against Wimbledon on Saturday 22nd February 2003 - the name of their club! Until 1919 the club had been known as Leicester Fosse and they were considering reverting to that name. But the fans were given the final say - each was given a card showing a C for City on one side and an F for Fosse on the other. In a show of cards at half-time the  Cs won by a mile...and Leicester City they remained.

Burnley were beaten 6-5 at Grimsby but at home lost 2-5 to Reading, 2-6 to Rotherham, 2-7 to Sheffield Wednesday and 4-7 to Watford.
