Nottingham Forest retained the European Cup, beating Hamburg 1-0 in the final played at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Arsenal reached the final of the European Cup Winners Cup but in the first European final to be decided on penalties they lose to Valencia.

It took a record 6 matches to decide the FA Cup semi-finals. Four matches were needed by holders Arsenal before they disposed of Liverpool and two by West Ham to beat Everton. It took only one match for Second Division West Ham to beat Arsenal in the final

Question:

No League club could do it until the 1981/82 season but York City were the first to do it - in 1983/84. Fulham were the first club to do it twice while a Premier League club didn't manage it until 2017/18. What?
