The First Division match between Chelsea and Charlton on Christmas Day was abandoned due to fog - it was ten minutes or so before Charlton keeper Sam Bartram realised that the match had been called off!

Question:

The 2021 Rugby League World Cup wasn't played until 2022 due to Covid while the opening ceremony in 2022 was spoiled by a failure of the public address system which also delayed the kick off of the opening match that followed the ceremony. Mind you England beat Samoa 60-6 in that opening match!
