For the first and only time the FA Cup leaves England - Cardiff City beat Arsenal in the final at Wembley. The only goal was the result of a mistake by the Arsenal 'keeper - a Welshman!

In the First Division match between Sheffield United and Bury on Saturday April 30th 1927 Bury's Sam Wynne collapsed during the match and died in the dressing rooms of pneumonia. The match was abandoned
