Leading League goalscorer:
Wilf Chadwick
(Everton)
 28  goals

Cardiff City’s Len Davies missed a penalty in the First Division match against Birmingham City on the last day of the 1923/24 season. Had he scored it Cardiff would have been League champions (for the only time in their history), instead they finished runners-up to Huddersfield Town on goal average.

Despite moving to Chelsea in November Andy Wilson finished the season as top scorer for Middlesbrough with 8 League goals including 5 in the 5-2 victory over Nottingham Forest. At Chelsea he scored 5 goals in 19 League matches to finish as top scorer for them as well. Both clubs were relegated!
