Leading League goalscorer:
Ricky Miller
(Dover Athletic)
 40  goals

An amazing season for Conference sides in the FA Cup. Champions Lincoln City reached the quarter-finals but there they came unstuck being beaten 5-0 by eventual Cup winners Arsenal in front of a 59,454 Emirates crowd.

In the previous round - the 5th Round - a more modest 5013 were at Gander Green Lane to see Arsenal defeat Sutton United 2-0 . Amazingly most stories after the match revolved around a player eating a pie...details.

OK, it was a big ask but if Sutton had beaten Arsenal it would have guaranteed seeing a Conference side in the semi-finals of the FA Cup - FA Cup results 2016/17.

Forest Green Rovers reached the play-offs for the third season in a row and this time recorded a Wembley final victory over Tranmere Rovers in the final. Everyone then started to wonder how the first vegan club in the Football League would fare?

Dover's Ricky Miller was by far the most prolific goalscorer in the League with 40 goals in his 41 League outings. It earned him a transfer to Football League Peterborough United.
Another Jamie Vardy?
