      IPSWICH TOWN    1962/63
      European Cup

Ipswich Town qualified for their first venture into European competition by winning the League championship in 1961/62. Their title success was probably the biggest upset in modern championship history - the Suffolk side were playing in their first season in the top flight and in fact had only been League members for 17 seasons. They equipped themselves well in the European Cup - recording a club record score against minnows Floriana in the First Round before narrowly losing out to eventual winners AC Milan in the Second.
