With Manchester City having become English side to win a domestic treble of League champions, FA Cup winners and League Cup winners in 2018/19 - and they were victors in the Community Shield - you might have thought that the Man City reserve side would have been appropriate opponents for their first team in the Community Shield. But it was Premier League runners-up Liverpool who played Manchester City in the season-opener at Wembley.
