1.

Sheffield United v Manchester United
Saturday 15th August 1992
??? has played more than 500 league matches since making his debut for Gillingham in 1979. Norwich signed him for £135,000 in 1984 but United went up to £825,000 to secure his signature in 1987. After winning England youth honours in his early days, ??? later played for England 'B' and for the Football League XI.

2.

Arsenal v Blackburn Rovers
Saturday 2nd April 2011
A former Blackburn favourite, ??? returned to Ewood Park on a half-season loan in January having fallen out of favour at Man City - the club that bought him from Rovers for £17.5m two summers ago. A veteran of three World Cups with Paraguay, he would probably have already passed 100 caps for his country had it not been for the scourge of injuries that have decimated is career - not least during the eight-year spell he had at Bayern Munich.

3.

Leicester City v Manchester City
Saturday 24th April 2004
Experienced midfielder ??? joined City in the summer for £2.5m from relegated Sunderland where he spent two seasons. The 30 year old New Jersey-born player has been capped 93 times for the USA, scoring eight goals.

4.

Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers
Saturday 25th August 1993
???, signed from non-League Hayes in 1987, had few peers to match his aerial power and strength on the ground. He was by some way Rangers' top scorer with 24 goals (in 1992/93), including two hat-tricks, and, not surprisingly, he also scooped the club's 'Player of the Year' award. Graham Taylor, the England manager, could not ignore such form and ??? marked his senior international debut with a goal in the 6-0 World Cup win over San Marino in February. He finished the season with four caps.

5.

Wimbledon v Liverpool
Tuesday 6th May 1997
Liverpool bought the England star from Watford in June 1987 and he became an instant hit with the Anfield faithful, his goalscoring and his ability on the wing bringing him both FA Cup and Championship medals. Voted Player of the Year by his fellow professionals and named Footballer of the Year by the country's top football writers in 1987-88 and Footballer of the Year again in 1989/90. Jamaican born, ??? endured two frustrating seasons with injuries before assuming a new role in central midfield.
