* After 'losing' their Worthington League Cup Third Round tie at West Ham on penalties the Hammers were found to have fielded an ineligible player in the match and the result was declared void and the fixture was ordered to be replayed. The ineligible player was Manny Omoyinmi who had appeared in the two League Cup Second Round matches against Bolton while on loan at Gillingham and so was not eligible to play for another club in the competition.
