Things could hardly have got better for all-round sportsman Jim Standen in 1964. As a goalkeeper with West Ham United he won an FA Cup winners medal in 1964 and in the same summer helped Worcestershire to become County cricket champions, finishing top of the first-class bowling averages in the process.

What a difference a day makes...well two anyway! On Boxing Day 1963 Burnley beat Manchester United 6-1 at Turf Moor. 48 hours later in the return Division 1 fixture at Old Trafford Burnley were beaten by a 5-1 scoreline.
