On January 6th 1934 Stockport County recorded the highest-ever score in the Football League when they defeated Halifax Town 13-0 at Edgeley Park. Halifax goalkeeper Stanley Milton was making his League debut for the club in that match! (More debuts). The scoreline still stands as a record although it is now shared with Newcastle United who defeated Newport County 13-0 on October 5th 1946.

Another high score in the Third Division North Cup which was competed for for the first time in 1933/34 - Wrexham beat New Brighton 11-1 in a First Round tie. Darlington beat Stockport 4-3 in the final played at Old Trafford.
